Vessel of Still Water

Vessel of Still Water draws inspiration from the Japanese art of ikebana, where balance, emptiness, and quiet intention define the form. Hand-built in stoneware, its curves are soft yet grounded — a vessel made to hold both space and breath.

The flowing gold lines, applied in a third firing with liquid gold, follow the natural paths of the clay, recalling the kintsugi tradition of honoring repair as part of an object’s story. Still and luminous, the piece embodies the philosophy of water — adaptable, reflective, and at peace within its own movement.
